K-P Govt Said Ramadan, Eid Relief Package for Low-Income Families
This year, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Government has declared relief packages for Ramadan and Eid for deserving families across the province.
In a confirmation statement, Barrister Saif, Special Assistant to the Information Minister of K-P, noted that the provincial government plans to extend the package to more than one million families in the province, as it did last year. As part of the relief initiative, each family will receive Rs 10,000.
The funds will be disbursed through the banks and EasyPaisa in a fully automated and transparent system before the 15th of Ramadan. The provincial government will pay the bank and disbursement fees so that the intended recipients receive the entire amount.
CM Ali Amin Gandapur said there should be no suspicion in distributing these packages. He gave the specific direction that orphans, victims of terrorism, and transgender persons must be included in the packages on a priority basis.
Earlier, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) announced its estimates for the visibility of the moons marking the beginning of Ramadan, noting that it will most likely begin on March 2, 2025.
As SUPARCO states, the new moon will occur at 5:45 PM on February 28, 2025, in Pakistan Standard Time. At sunset that day, the moon will be 12 hours old. However, the moon’s low altitude and distance from Earth will make it difficult for an observer to see it with the naked eye.
